Year Two have had a wild time exploring African animals! They have been discovering different facts about animals and looking at different animal groups. The children have been busy sorting the animals into carnivore, herbivore, omnivore and experimenting with scientific vocabulary. The children will be enjoying our 'materials' topic by identifying and naming different objects and their material! They will be identifying, questioning and challenging their peer's ideas by using scientific terminology and investigative methods.
The children will explore and compare the differences between things that are living dead, and things that have never been alive! The children will identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited and describe how different habitats provide for basic needs!
During Spring 2, the children will continue to explore habitats, focusing on specific needs and requirements for animals, including humans. The children we explore different habitats and use their design and technology skills to create a suitable habitat for their own dinosaur!
