Catholic Social Teaching: Dignity of the Human Person
Spring 1 Catholic Social Teaching theme: The Dignity of the Human Being
We are beautifully made in the image and likeness of God.
God made each person, so every life is important and should be protected.
Saint: St. Maximillian Kolbe.
"So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them."
Genesis 1:27
In Spring 1, the children will be thinking about how each and every one of us is made in the image and likeness of God. They will be exploring ways to express themselves and recognise the wonderful gifts that God has given them. The children will be writing poems that will focus on them expressing their personality, including talking about their hobbies, their favourite things to eat or the things they love to do! It is important that the children listen to other children's poems, in order to demonstrate our love and care for others, in the same way that God does to us. We always remember our mission statement: 'One Family in Christ'.
We will be participating in Children's Mental Health Week on the week beginning Monday 5th February. We will be having an extra special non-uniform day on Tuesday 6th February, to celebrate and showcase what makes us unique!
