Swimming

For 24 weeks a year on a Friday, our year 4 children attend Whitworth swimming baths for lessons. This academic year we have split the class into two groups so as to have a more intensive offering. As a school we pay for three instructors that all go in the water to aid the children. Each group is made up of only four, five or six swimmers which has massively improved our swimming statistics.

We have recently signed up for a swimming booster scheme with the local leisure centre where we will be taking the year 6's that did not meet the nation requirement when they were in year 4. We are using some of the sports premium money to fund this.
