Leave in term time will not be authorised unless there are exceptional circumstances. "Exceptional Circumstances" can be described as rare, significant, unavoidable and short, AND that leave/absences could not reasonably be scheduled at another time.
Should you wish to apply for Leave of Absence, it is necessary to complete an application form which you can collect from the Office.
The Head Teacher will then indicate if the Leave has been authorised.
If you decide to take leave during term time, please note there will potentially be a fine to pay which the Local Authority will issue (£60 per child, per parent) and should your child be absent from school for an extended period, they may lose their place in our school.
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee
To celebrate her seventy-year reign, there will be an extra Bank Holiday in 2022 to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The government website says:
The May Bank Holiday Weekend will be moved to Thursday 2 June and an additional Bank Holiday on Friday 3 June will see a four-day weekend to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee - the first time any British monarch has reached this historic milestone.
This historic event will reflect on Her Majesty’s reign, and her impact on the UK and the world since 1952.As schools are already on holiday at this time, it means that at the beginning of May, school will be closed for the early Bank holiday on Monday 2nd May and closed on Tuesday 3rd May - as this is when Eid is expected to fall, our families can celebrate Eid this year without their children having to miss a day of school.
