National Storytelling Week

National Storytelling Week 2021

This year, we celebrated National Storytelling Week a little differently! 

The children took part in activities each day and shared this through Seesaw. They had opportunities to record themselevs reading to a member of their family and listen to teachers reading their all time favourite stories! Children participated in a Reading Treasure Hunt, which involved them searching their homes for different items that we read every day. They found items such as: a magazine, tins, takeaway menus and many more! 

To finish our celebrating, the children created their own reading den, giving them a safe, special place to enjoy reading their books at home. The children in school, used lots of resources to create reading dens in their classrooms! They spent the afternoon reading stories in their special dens. 

We are so impressed with the hard work from children and their families this week! It has been wonderful to see you enjoying yourselves and sharing your love for read.
