Individual Class enrichment:

EYFS have access to parent and child workshops linked to Rochdale's visit from Dippy the Dinosaur.

Y1 are visiting Dippy in Rochdale town centre. They have visited Blackpool Zoo as part of their Dinosaur topic in the Spring term.

 

Y2 are visiting Dippy in Rochdale town centre.

They have had some wonderful visitors that have kindly helped them with their learning. The children have participated in a Great Fire of London workshop and visited The Greater Manchester Fire Musuem. 

They have also visited Blackpool Zoo as part of their Dinosaur topic in the Spring term.

Year 2 are taking part in a series of drama lessons with young adults from Rochdale Sixth Form also linked to the dinosaur topic.

 

 

Y3 have taken part in an Anglo-Saxon workshop in Autumn term as part of their topic work.

They are also taking part in a series of drama lessons with young adults from Rochdale Sixth Form also linked to the dinosaurs before they visit Dippy in Summer.

As part of their topic about the Vikings, they have having a visit from Viking in school!

 

Y4 are going to watch Billionaire Boy at the theatre in July.

 

Y5 were lucky enough to have a German Christmas morning! Our chair of governors, Mrs Skilling, speaks fluent German, was kind enough to come in and teach them new German phrases and also how to sing 'Silent night' in German. 

They also visited St Cuthbert’s High School to watch their children perform in a pantomime.

Year 5 are going to watch Billionaire Boy at the theatre in July with Y4.

 

Y6  were also lucky enough to have a German Christmas morning with Y5 too!

They also took part in Multi-Faith week. Children from our school and another school in the Federation worked together to produce art work and deliver assemblies about faith. Children from St John’s shared their Christian and Islamic faiths and explained the similarities and differences between them.
